Our Story

Here at Wine Works, our customers are like family and after more than 30 years, we have a BIG family that keeps on growing! Wine Works has been proudly serving South Georgian Bay wine and beer makers since 1989.

Our customers craft their own fabulous vintages for a fraction of the cost of commercial wines, while enjoying all of the taste and quality that some say are even better than many store bought brands.

We welcome you to Wine Works where making your own wines is not just affordable, it’s also fun, easy, social and something you can be proud to share with family and friends. We’re here to help.

Meet The Team

At Wine Works, our team is like family (literally, in some cases). Each team member plays an important role in making sure your wine gets made and enjoyed by you.

Jayna - "The Manager"

The quarterback at Wine Works, Jayna has quickly learned the ropes and become a critical part of the team as she coordinates daily operations, networks with customers and provides exceptional service. She's a bit quirky, loves puzzles and tattoos, and is passionate about what she does. Jayna brings a fun and positive energy wherever she goes.

Steph - "The Winemaker"

Our resident winemaker, with us since 2022 and focused on ensuring each step of the winemaking process is given the care it deserves. A country girl at heart, weekend warrior, keto diet enthusiast, wife and mother of two, Steph wears many hats and manages them all like a superhero. She prefers Pepsi over Coke... somehow.

John - "The Professor"

Always ready to dispense his winemaking knowledge, John can be found around Wine Works several days a week sharing his 30 years of experience running the business, chatting with long-time customers and bringing a general jovial attitude. He's incredibly passionate and knowledgable, and will likely be playing with wine as long as he can lift a glass.

Kris - "The Boss"

The buck stops at (and starts with) Kris. With a decade of experience managing the business, he's now at the helm, making the big decisions and solving the unplanned challenges. From day one, working under his father John, he's been pushing to improve an already great business, always focused on creating the best possible customer experience. He's also a pretty big nerd and has a cat.

Our Winemaking Facilities

Our shop at Wine Works is where all the magic happens. Located conveniently in the town of Collingwood and easily accessible from the main roads, we're a stones throw from the bay.

It's here we do all of the winemaking process, from starting a wine through to the final stage of bottling. Renovated with wine quality at the forefront, our facility contains several useful features that aid in the quality of your wine:

  • Temperature controlled rooms.
  • Heated flooring in the fermenting room.
  • Reverse-osmosis carbon water filtration for winemaking.
  • Exceptional airflow and ventilation, with high ceilings.
